The college’s enrollment stands at 14,989. At this time last year, there were 16,884 registered students. Edison administrators deny the possibility that recent turmoil at the college is to blame. When enrollment slowed in spring 2012, they pointed to the improving economy, saying it meant fewer people needed to go back to school for new careers. Other Florida colleges experienced similar trends that they, too, attributed to the economy.
