It was his idea to use a backstage theme in Friday’s Splendor 2012 benefit, presented by The UF Friends of Theatre and Dance, program assistant Rachel Berry says. Favini, the interim director of the UF School of Theatre and Dance, died last month after a three-year battle with cancer. He was 51.
